Important Considerations of the 75-Day Waiver

It can be hard to file for Social Security Disability benefits. During this process, individuals will be asked to fill out mountains of paperwork, gather official documents, submit their claim only to be faced with a prolonged waiting period. In some cases, individuals might become frustrated and look for ways to expedite their claim. This is where the 75 day waiver might be considered; however, there is some important information to remember.

An Overview of the 75-Day Waiver

The 75-day waiver targets the policies of the Social Security Administration. Their policy is that they need to notify their applicants at least 75 days in advance of their hearing date. This gives you time to prepare your case after receiving a hearing date. It is prudent for you to use this time to present the strongest case possible at their SSA hearing.

By signing the 75-day waiver, individuals are telling the administration that they do not need 75 days to prepare their case. If cases are cancelled or rescheduled, the SSA will try to fill these open slots with those who have signed the 75-day waiver. While this might get your case heard sooner, there is some other important information for you to consider.

The Consequences of Signing the 75-day Waiver

If you sign the 75-day waiver, you could get your case heard sooner; however, there are some important drawbacks that you should know. Some of these include:

  • The scheduled hearing date might not allow you much time to prepare a strong claim
  • Medical systems might not have enough time to submit medical documents and records for your hearing
  • Important information relevant to your case could be overlooked
  • You might not be ready for your hearing

These drawbacks could lead to an unfavorable ruling at your case that could have been avoided. For this reason, make sure that your case is as strong as possible. Signing the 75-day waiver is not an easy decision, so make sure to meet with an experienced attorney to go over all of the relevant information. Trying to navigate Social Security on my own seemed futile. It can be a long arduous process. My experience with Marva Match and her team was nothing short of outstanding! There were a lot of complexities involved with my case and they didn’t give up. I’m extremely grateful to Marva for advocating on my behalf. I highly recommend Match Disability Law to anyone going through this process.

My attorney at Match Disability approached my case with compassion. She showed genuine concern for me and my family. In the end she pushed my claim through and it was approved in about six weeks. This will not be the same scenario for many claimant's unfortunately, but my story is proof of the genuine care these attorneys have for their clients. Contacting Match Disability is one of the best decisions I've made.

We have hired Match Disability Law on two different occasions for two separate cases. Both times all of the staff were very helpful and courteous to us as we navigated the difficult Social Security Disability appeals process. I know that it is because of their caring dedication to their clients that both of our cases were approved. Marva and her staff do an excellent job at representing their clients. We recommend them to anyone looking for help after receiving a denial for SS disability benefits. I would give more stars if I could. We are forever grateful for their firm.

I had a disappointing experience with Ms. Match. At the commencement of our experience together I had some conversations with some of her staff. They were professional, and courteous. However, when it came time for the hearing I had two or three phone conversations with Ms. Match in which she was short, rude and condescending - not what I would expect from a professional who has chosen to work with those in very desperate and vulnerable situations. My claim was ultimately denied following the hearing and I had received very little counsel in the nearly twenty or so months it took from applying to the hearing. I feel as though if I had received better counsel I could have won my case as my medical history clearly demonstrates a serious medical issue. I have given two stars instead of one because my dealings with her staff were positive.
