An Attorney Is Valuable In A Claim For Disability Benefits

Attorney Is Valuable In A Claim For Disability Benefits

Many applicants for Social Security Disability or Supplemental Security Income benefits are under the impression that applying for benefits is as simple as contacting the Social Security Administration, filling out some forms, and submitting an application.

In fact, this isn’t the case.  The application process requires extensive paperwork, much of it not readily available or attached to the initial application.  It is very easy to make mistakes or errors which could compromise your eligibility for benefits.

A very high percentage of applications are denied and many of those are denied for technical reasons such as a failure to provide complete paperwork and authorizations and others are denied for a failure to provide complete information.

Hiring an experienced attorney prior to submitting a claim for benefits will greatly increase your chances of being allowed benefits.  An experienced attorney can assist you with compiling the paperwork and medical records that are necessary to show that you suffer from disabling impairments that render you unable to work.

The information provided on your application is retained throughout the entire process if you need to appeal a denial on a claim for benefits.  This means that any errors on an initial application will follow you through the entire process.  The assistance of an attorney is extremely valuable in properly preparing and presenting an application for benefits.

The assistance of an experienced attorney is even more important if you are denied benefits and need to appeal the denial.  If a claim is denied, it is reasonable to assume that there is a problem somewhere in the process.  This could consist of missing or incorrect information or more technical issues such as a lapse in your coverage for benefits.

At this point, an attorney can obtain:

  • Social Security Administration’s analysis of your claim
  • Determine why the claim was denied
  • Formulate a plan to overcome the rationale for the denial of the claim.

They will help you to:

  • Obtain missing evidence
  • Correct mistakes
  • Advocate on your behalf to ensure that the Social Security Administration has all the information and understanding that is required to grant you the benefits you need and deserve.

Trying to navigate Social Security on my own seemed futile. It can be a long arduous process. My experience with Marva Match and her team was nothing short of outstanding! There were a lot of complexities involved with my case and they didn’t give up. I’m extremely grateful to Marva for advocating on my behalf. I highly recommend Match Disability Law to anyone going through this process.

My attorney at Match Disability approached my case with compassion. She showed genuine concern for me and my family. In the end she pushed my claim through and it was approved in about six weeks. This will not be the same scenario for many claimant's unfortunately, but my story is proof of the genuine care these attorneys have for their clients. Contacting Match Disability is one of the best decisions I've made.

We have hired Match Disability Law on two different occasions for two separate cases. Both times all of the staff were very helpful and courteous to us as we navigated the difficult Social Security Disability appeals process. I know that it is because of their caring dedication to their clients that both of our cases were approved. Marva and her staff do an excellent job at representing their clients. We recommend them to anyone looking for help after receiving a denial for SS disability benefits. I would give more stars if I could. We are forever grateful for their firm.

I had a disappointing experience with Ms. Match. At the commencement of our experience together I had some conversations with some of her staff. They were professional, and courteous. However, when it came time for the hearing I had two or three phone conversations with Ms. Match in which she was short, rude and condescending - not what I would expect from a professional who has chosen to work with those in very desperate and vulnerable situations. My claim was ultimately denied following the hearing and I had received very little counsel in the nearly twenty or so months it took from applying to the hearing. I feel as though if I had received better counsel I could have won my case as my medical history clearly demonstrates a serious medical issue. I have given two stars instead of one because my dealings with her staff were positive.
