Frank Bisignano confirmed as the  18th Commissioner of Social Security

Financial Services Industry Leader Frank Bisignano confirmed as the 18th Commissioner of Social Security

Financial Services Industry Leader Frank Bisignano was sworn on May 6th as the 18th Commissioner of Social Security.  He was nominated by President Trump after a period in which Social Security was administered by Acting Commissioners Michelle King and Lee Dudek.

He joins the Social Security Administration after serving as Chairman and CEO of a corporation called Fiserv, which is an industry leader in processing various types of payments, including credit card payments.  Prior to Finserv, he worked for First Data Corp which combined with Finserv in 2019.  Before that he was co-chief operating officer for JPMorgan Chase in the mortgage banking unit.  Bisignano’s father was a 46 year Department of the Treasury employee who worked in customs enforcement.

Bisignano testified before the Senate prior to his confirmation and stated that he did not intend to privatize the agency.  He also stated it is important to “put the beneficiaries first” and that “the ability to receive payments on time and accurately is job one.”   He indicated his priorities included reducing error rates to help eliminate overpayment issues that leave beneficiaries owing money to the Social Security Administration.

“President Trump has been clear about Social Security. We will protect it,” said Commissioner Bisignano. “We will make the Social Security Administration a premier organization.”

The Social Security Commissioner oversees the administration of all Social Security programs, including Retirement, Survivor and Disability Programs. Last year, Social Security paid over $1.5 trillion in benefits to more than 72 million beneficiaries.

Trying to navigate Social Security on my own seemed futile. It can be a long arduous process. My experience with Marva Match and her team was nothing short of outstanding! There were a lot of complexities involved with my case and they didn’t give up. I’m extremely grateful to Marva for advocating on my behalf. I highly recommend Match Disability Law to anyone going through this process.

My attorney at Match Disability approached my case with compassion. She showed genuine concern for me and my family. In the end she pushed my claim through and it was approved in about six weeks. This will not be the same scenario for many claimant's unfortunately, but my story is proof of the genuine care these attorneys have for their clients. Contacting Match Disability is one of the best decisions I've made.

We have hired Match Disability Law on two different occasions for two separate cases. Both times all of the staff were very helpful and courteous to us as we navigated the difficult Social Security Disability appeals process. I know that it is because of their caring dedication to their clients that both of our cases were approved. Marva and her staff do an excellent job at representing their clients. We recommend them to anyone looking for help after receiving a denial for SS disability benefits. I would give more stars if I could. We are forever grateful for their firm.

These guys were quite for you, they've been on my side for years. I've been denied and denied and denied and denied. And finally, we have won my Battle.

I had a disappointing experience with Ms. Match. At the commencement of our experience together I had some conversations with some of her staff. They were professional, and courteous. However, when it came time for the hearing I had two or three phone conversations with Ms. Match in which she was short, rude and condescending - not what I would expect from a professional who has chosen to work with those in very desperate and vulnerable situations. My claim was ultimately denied following the hearing and I had received very little counsel in the nearly twenty or so months it took from applying to the hearing. I feel as though if I had received better counsel I could have won my case as my medical history clearly demonstrates a serious medical issue. I have given two stars instead of one because my dealings with her staff were positive.
