We are glad to be able to inform you that the Biden Administration’s Fiscal Year 2022 Budget Proposal includes a very big increase in the administrative budget for the Social Security Administration. The budget is increased by 8% from $13.7 billion to $14.8 billion. It also anticipates an increase in the number of full-time employees from 59,355 up to 60,586. Hopefully, this will mean shorter telephone wait times, quicker processing of claims, and a quicker resolution to issues for our clients.
Currently wait times are extremely long, in part to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, but also in large part due to understaffed balances. Hopefully, more funding and more employees will result in much better public service.
